frequently asked questions

What are some of the most common washing machine problems?

Is your washing machine not starting or filing with water? Before you jump to the worst conclusion, there are a few things you can check yourself to be prepared for a diagnostic check or repair.

First, always check that the machine is plugged in. This may seem obvious but sometimes the weight of the washing machine and the motions it makes can cause the plug to come loose without you realizing it. If the cord is indeed plugged in, check that your circuit breaker hasn’t tripped or shorted.

Apart from these, here are some of the most common problems we fix:

– A washing machine that doesn’t turn on
– A washing machine that won’t spin
– Machine not filling with water or overflowing
– Washer not draining
– Washer leaking water
– Noisy washing machine
– Washer vibrating or shaking
– A washer that doesn’t finish the cycle
– Locked washer door

Should I replace or repair my Washing Machine?

The decision to replace or repair a washer depends on the cost of the repair and the age of the machine. The average lifespan of washing machines is about 10 years. Before the lifespan ends, it’s better to repair the washer.

NWAR can repair any washing machine problem and extend the life of your washer, thereby saving you costs. However, if the washer is past its average lifespan, it may be better to replace it. NWAR experts can also help you determine if a repair is worth the investment.

Should I repair my Washing Machine on my own or call a professional?

If your washer is not working as it should, you may want to try fixing the problem yourself. You can fix a few issues that don’t require much technical knowledge such as leveling and bad odor.
However, if you don’t know what’s causing the problem, you should call a professional. This will save you time, effort, and costs, and help you prevent further damage to the washer.

Washer not rinsing clothes properly

If you find that your clothes are not properly rinsed after a wash, it indicates that there’s a problem with the washer and you need to take action. First, ensure that you’re following the instructions from the owner’s manual regarding the amount of soap, amount of load, and so forth.

If these issues are not the ones causing the problem, the cause could be a malfunctioning pump, a broken switch assembly, a broken door, a damaged water inlet valve, or something else. Therefore, contact a technician to check it out and fix it.
