Why is my stand mixer not turning on?

If your stand mixer won’t power up, the issue might be electrical. Check if the power cord is damaged or the plug is loose. Sometimes the outlet itself is the problem—try plugging another appliance in to confirm.

If power is reaching the mixer and it still doesn’t turn on, the issue could be an internal fuse, a faulty power switch, or a burnt motor. In some models, a safety switch prevents operation if the mixer head isn’t locked in place.

What causes the mixer attachments to stop spinning?

Why is my mixer head loose or wobbling during use?

A mixer head that wobbles during mixing might have a loose hinge pin or a worn locking mechanism. In tilt-head models, the head should stay locked in place when operating. If it bounces or shifts, it affects mixing efficiency and can lead to attachment wear.

Over time, screws can loosen or hinge pins can slide out of alignment. A technician can realign and tighten the head assembly, replace damaged components, and restore a solid lock to keep the machine stable while in use.

Can a burnt motor in a mixer be repaired?
